About Veterinary Marketing Company
A search practice for independently owned veterinary clinics, operated and based in Austin, Texas, and open to clinics anywhere in the US.
Who we are
Veterinary Marketing Company is operated and based in Austin, Texas. Our background is agency search work, including search and advertising accounts for 39 small businesses at a UK digital marketing agency, which is where the habits on this site come from: one page a month that an owner can read in two minutes, every number traced to a source, and no promise that the work cannot keep. There is no sales layer; the people you write to are the people who edit your profile.
Vet clinics are new for us; we have no vet clinic clients yet. The case study is from another field.
We are not veterinarians, so every page and profile change is approved by a veterinarian at the practice before it goes live, and the views below are about search, not medicine.
We have no relationship with any corporate group, consolidator, private-equity firm or software vendor, and we never share clinic data with one.

How we think about search for a vet clinic
Six views. The sources are on the research page and in the guides.
The clinic across town is the competition.
In our October snapshot of 14 towns (one search each), no clinic branded as a chain appeared in any map pack, and chain pages appeared in the web results in three towns.
Ask every client for a Google review, the same way, and offer nothing.
Google bans incentives and asking only happy clients, and the FTC's 2024 rule bans fake reviews. One card at the front desk, used for everyone, covers both.
Claim the Yelp page and keep it accurate, and leave it there.
Yelp was on page one in all 14 towns of our October snapshot, and Yelp's policy says not to ask for reviews.
Write one page per kind of visit.
"Puppy shots", "dog teeth cleaning" and "spay and neuter" are separate searches with separate questions, and a bulleted Services page answers none of them.
If the clinic is independently owned, say so in plain facts.
"Owned by Dr. Patel since 2016" tells a pet owner something they can't find on the sign. We don't write lines about other clinics.
Say exactly what the clinic does after hours.
A clinic that takes calls from its own clients at night should say that, and name the nearest emergency hospital for everyone else.
What we do not do
Ads, social media, email campaigns, web design beyond what search needs, anything that touches patient records, Yelp solicitation, pages for towns the clinic does not serve, and work for two general practices in the same town. The full list and the reasons are on the how we work page.
